What is the Big Event?

The Big Event is the largest day of collegiate-led community service in the country, started at Texas A&M University in 1982. We brought it to SMU in 2018, where it is slowly becoming a beloved campus tradition.

How do I get involved?

The day itself is a great way to start! Register for the Big Event (April 15th, 2023) in the spring and get ready to fall in love.

Additionally, we invite SMU students to apply for our leadership team every Fall semester. We also host The Not So Big Event every fall.

Register now for The Big Event 2023 taking place April 15th! Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Dallas Hall Lawn with food and fun to follow. Registration closes April 7th at 11:59 p.m.

Do I have to be a member to participate?

No! Whether it's your first Big Event or 5th, we want to see your smiling faces there with us! Register and bring your friends to serve and have fun!

Can I earn community service hours at the Big Event?

This will depend on the organization you are trying to obtain hours for. We will, however, sign any documentation you bring or can provide you with proof that you attended the Big Event.
